The Hard Reality Of Small Farming

The Hard Reality Of Small Farming Today we are taking you along as we prepare to transport our American Guinea Hogs to be processed. This is a tough year for us because for the first time in our history of raising our own meat, we are out sourcing the processing. It is very important to us to raise our animals in the best possible way and for us to take part in the burden of slaughtering and butchering. We feel we should not only take part in the fun/beautiful parts of raising our animals but also the sad parts. With snow already flying, we are feeling the pressure to get our family inside our house in order to not spend our second winter in the RV and therefore we are unable to take several days away from the build to get set up/process the pigs ourselves this year. As life leaves the farm, life is also arriving. We have welcomed new goat kids and lambs. Come with us down to the barn to see our pens and meet the new babies!
