Every House I Have Ever Lived in Since I was Born

Every House I Have Ever Lived in Since I was Born I thought it would be fun to go back and see all the houses I have lived in since I was born. I remember them all excep0t for the very first once since we moved when I was about 6 months old. That house also happened to burn down, but you can see the house that replaced it.

The second house has been abandoned for quite some time and is out in the country. I remember a few things at that house before we moved when I was three or three and a half.

I checked with my parents and they owned the first three houses I lived in, rented the fourth, and then bought the rest from there.

We moved into town when I was 3 or so and I loved having neighbors and friends close by. I lived in three different houses in town until I moved to Boulder and attended the University of Colorado.

I lived in Sewall hall for a year, with my roommate Matt who I knew from high school. We ended up meeting Justin, and we all three lived together in Boulder for the next three years in two different houses. Justin went to work in the corporate world as did Matt. However, Justin quit and came to work with me about 10 years after college. he is probably regretting that decision now! haha

After college, I lived with my parents for a very short time in a house they built from scratch. Then I moved into the Oasis tower and became the onsight manager. My sister was the head property manager and I got reduced rent for taking care of a few things at the building including being the pool boy. That building had a pretty sketchy basement. Talk about murder rooms! I lived there for a year and a half or so.

I bought my first house next which I paid $190,000 for. I lived there for 6 years! I met my wife while living there, got a dog, and had a few parties. I am not sure my neighbors liked living next to a 22 or 23-year-old, but I kept the house fairly nice. I did quite a bit of work to the house and sold it for $180,000 in 2009. That was not a good time to sell especially when I bought the house right before the crash. I also paid full retail value for the house. I have learned a lot since then!

The reason I sold my first house was that I found a great deal on a foreclosure. I bought the foreclosure for $210,000 and ended up selling it for $343,000. that gain was tax-free since I lived there at least 2 years. I sold that house to Justin when he came to work for me so I did not even have to pay a commission. I moved out of that house because My wife Jeni found our dream house.

The dream house is 6,600 sqft, on half an acre, with a 5 car garage! We have lived in that house for 6 years now as well. I am a house snob and I have not seen a house I like better than this one. I do wish I had more garages, but I will deal with that!
