The govenrment's move to end special status for Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two union territories has raised big concerns for Kashmiri students. Hyderabad's Maulana Azad National Urdu University has about 200 students from Jammu and Kashmir. After the announcements by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in parliament on Monday, there was a huge police presence around campus as a security measure. NDTV's Uma Sudhir spoke to a few students who say they worry about the well-being of their families back home, about jobs getting more competitive, land and their future.
