Mulch is one of those garden activities that has a purpose in all seasons. Placed in fall, a thick layer of mulch helps soil retain moisture, suppresses weeds, breaks down and provides nutrients back into the soil and dresses up a landscape. When those fall leaves drop in your landscape, rake them up and place into planter areas to provide a habitat for wildlife. For some great tips on benefits of mulch, check out this video from Joe Lamp'l of JoeGardener.com and Growing a Greener World on PBS. Presented by Corona.
