New York City Is In Deep Trouble – New Minimum Wage Just Backfired On Their Local Residents

They raised it through the roof – but it all came crashing down on them!

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Yet another mega Democratic stronghold is suffering, thanks to the very laws they put into place!

The sad reality is most of our country’s biggest cities are run by Democrats. And they are also the places hardest hit by crime, poverty, and shrinking jobs market. Coincidence? Of course not.

Democrats in AOC’s home city thought they could raise the minimum wage. That would be the key to making everybody rich and happy, right?

Only six months have passed since the $15/hour law went into effect. And they’re getting a lesson in economics—a hard, painful lesson.

From Fox News:

More than six months after the $15 minimum wage went into effect in New York City, business leaders and owners say the increased labor costs have forced them to cut staff, eliminate work shifts and raise prices.

Wow. I could have told them that $15/hour wage law would cripple their businesses. Oh, wait… I DID.

New York is suffering thanks to the sky-high minimum wage. Businesses across the city are looking at cutting staff hours, laying off employees, or raising prices.

If they don’t—they’ll be forced to close their doors for good!

One restaurant owner in Harlem faces having to either lay off some of her 40-member-staff or cut back hours. Either way, her people will be losing out.

This law is directly impacting the earning power of minorities in the city. Aren’t those the people Democrats pretend to care about?

I guess they don’t care when black and Hispanic workers get fired because their employers can’t pay them $15/hour.

The law is forcing businesses to reduce workers’ hours to below 40/week. That often results in a drop in quality of service. Some businesses need staff working overtime. They got paid extra while providing top-notch service to customers.

But thanks to the left’s terrible $15/hour hike, customers, staff, and business owners are suffering.

Are you happy, AOC? Everything you do hurts the people you’re supposed to be helping.

In every city that has adopted this ridiculous minimum wage, we’ve seen this fallout. Businesses shut down or are forced to cut back ours. Many employees are laid off.

This is true on the West Coast, in San Francisco. And on the East Coast, in places like Baltimore.

Yet #Democrats all over the country are demanding a nationwide $15/hour minimum wage. Do they really care about everyday Americans, or buying votes with impossible promises?

SHARE if you think Democrats are running America’s big cities into the ground!
