On today’s Outkick the Show, Clay Travis addressed the recent situation at ESPN with Dan LeBatard voicing his objection to President Trump while on the radio show owned by ESPN. This in violation of the ESPN policy set by ESPN President Jimmy Pitaro not to voice political opinions while on the air representing the “worldwide leader.” Said Travis, “ESPN is not Dan LeBatard's platform, it's ESPN's platform. ESPN is the employer and LeBatard is the employee. If LeBatard wants to own his own platform, he should start his own show and do what he wants." Clay Travis also mentioned the NFL’s recent decision to not suspend Tyreek Hill. Clay questioned the consistency of the NFL’s personal conduct policy with recent issues surrounding Kareem Hunt, Zeke Elliott, and Tyreek Hill. It is Clay’s opinion that Roger Goodell made a poor decision to involve the NFL in the suspension business because justice is a hard business. The courts should decide these issues and the NFL should comply. If a team decides a player’s conduct isn’t in alignment with their brand, the team should be able to fire the player outright, said Travis.
Clay Travis also commented on Hall of Famer Mariano Rivera and some sportswriters who have chosen to criticize his right-leaning political opinions and religious faith. The Daily Beast attacked Rivera and categorized him as “far-right” for supporting Israel and being a Christian. This is how far left the left has gone.
Clay Travis discussed the ridiculous situation surrounding the Georgia state senator who, said Travis, is a female version of Jussie Smollett. The black woman, Erica Thomas, who claimed a white Trump supporter told her to “go back where she came from” at a grocery store, appeared at her press conference to tell the public he was complaining about her having too many items in the quick checkout lane, that he is an outspoken liberal who doesn’t support President Trump, and that he is not white, but Cuban.
