How We Could Enhance Learning, Longevity and Happiness | Keith Jacobus | TEDxWoodburyHighSchool Wouldn’t we all want to live a longer, happier life? The story of the Tortoise and the Hare may have a deeper meaning for us today by highlighting the importance of simply slowing down and sleeping well as a cornerstone to improving our schools, lengthening our lives and enhancing our overall happiness. Dr. Keith Jacobus is the superintendent of South Washington County School District.
Keith Jacobus, Ph.D., is the superintendent of South Washington County Schools. As a classroom teacher he taught biology and has a passion for brain research and how understanding brain physiology can help improve our educational system and the quality of our lives. Before joining South Washington County Schools, Jacobus served as Assistant Superintendent of Leadership, Teaching and Learning, for the Osseo Area School District in Osseo, Minnesota. He moved to Minnesota from Colorado nine years ago after serving as a teacher, high school principal and central administrator. Since coming to Minnesota he has embraced trying to water ski for at least seven months out of the year and has struggled to learn how to proficiently skate ski. Jacobus’ degrees include a Ph.D. from the University of Denver, a Master’s in Education from Lesley College and a Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University.
