Good morning! We’ve got a ton of stuff to get through today, old series get revived, cancelled localizations get revived, and GungHo is Gung Ho about Grandia! But first, we’ve got some headlines to talk about!
Headlines:
During this Nintendo Direct Nintendo revealed that Atlus will be bringing over #TokyoMirageSessions Encore to Nintendo Switch
This game was originally slated as Persona X Fire Emblem for WiiU, but took a sharp turn during development, pun intended.
The remaster will be coming to Switch, bringing the number of reasons to own a WiiU down to 1: Xenoblade Chronicles X.
At the tail end of the direct Nintendo revealed that #XenobladeChronicles Definitive Edition, the original, is getting remastered for Switch as well.
Xenoblade was a massive and beautiful game that was honestly wasted on the Wii’s 480p display resolution.
And what’s more, the definitive version appears to be more of a remake than a remaster, based on several screenshot comparisons by reddit users.

#Brigandine TheLegendOfRunersia announced for Switch
A Follow-up to the coveted Brigandine Legend of Fresena on PS1
The game is a Strategy/Tactics RPG on a hexagonal honeycomb grid
Coming to Switch Spring of 2020
Fairy Tale Announced for 2020
New JRPG Based on the popular manga and anime series #FairyTale
The game is being developed by Koei Tecmo and Gust
The game is coming to Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC in 2020.
Probably most importantly, the mangaka, Hiro Mashima, will be supervising the development.
#DragonQuest I, II and III Announced for Japan and Asia regions
Coming out on September 27th.
No news of an official western release at this time,
but there’s a silver lining we’ll talk about later
Localization and Release Date Updates:
Onion Games made an announcement regarding “MOON” The Anti-RPG,
announced for the West 22 years ago for PlayStation 1
Finally got a release date update.
The game is set to launch in Japan on October 10th
Launching in English world-wide not too long afterward
The game will instead launch on Nintendo Switch

Square Enix provided the Trials of Mana Remake with a release date update

#LittleTownHero also made an appearance at this week’s Nintendo Direct,
while showing off some new gameplay elements we got a release date: October 16th this year.
October is going to be a hard month on me and my wallet!
Other News:
During the Nintendo Direct, NOA revealed the SNES titles coming to Switch Online, which leads into the fact that
Breath of Fire 1 is currently available for free on Nintendo Switch online with a subscription
This game is a classic, and an audio-visual powerhouse on the Super Nintendo, but has a high encounter rate and lackluster translation.

GungHo Online Entertainment is considering more work with Grandia
Azario Lopez of NoisyPixel interviewed Kazuki Morishita, CEO of GungHo.
Based on the article it sounds like the reception of Grandia HD has been great, and they’re internally considering a #Grandia 3 and Xtreem remaster, and possibly even a new entry, quote:
