Final Video: A 14-year-old Cocker Spaniel had a gigantic neck abscess and high fever

The abscess was gigantic and the pus inside was not drained 100% by the emergency vet and the owner at home for the 3 days and nights before coming to Toa Payoh Vets.

The dog recovered fully after over a week of inpatient treatment.

This case study shows that the seriously ill old dog may recover if given more than a week of treatment. If the owners (parents) opted for euthanasia after 3 days of no response after treatment at the emergency vet, this dog would have no chance to recover. The young adult daughter loves this dog very much and is most happy with the outcome.
