My mom and I want to make the world a better place. Not because we have to, or are getting paid to, but simply because we feel compelled to. Unfortunately, most people don't feel this way but we think a lot of it is lack of education and awareness, but also because sustainable behaviors are not second nature for most of us and are pretty inconvenient after years of living life in a different way. It doesn't have to be this way anymore, and schools can change that! We believe all schools should be green schools, ones that teach about sustainability and increase their energy efficiency, but we also believe, given the tools, technology, and finances, that all new schools should be built net-zero and all retrofits on preexisting schools should be net-zero. This is the best way to decrease our immediate carbon footprint while raising all future generations to be stewards of the environment.
