Titanic dive shows shocking decay with captain’s bathtub gone A new dive to the Titanic has revealed it is disintegrating rapidly and the famous captain’s bathtub has now been lost.

It is the first diving mission to the famous shipwreck at the bottom of the North Atlantic for 14 years and pictures have shown the extent of the decay.

An international team headed down the 3,800 metres to see the remains of the ship that sank in 1912 on its way to the United States from Southampton.

The dive was led by Victor Vescovo, Rob McCallum and Titanic expert Parks Stephenson, along with a technical team who visited the wreck on a two-person submersible vehicle.
