The Government of India’s Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has given financial concurrence of around Rs 350 crore for the reconstruction and double-laning of the 35 km Khonsa-Hukanjuri Road in Tirap. According to officials, the stretch of road will be built in four phases of which financial concurrence has been given for the 1st, 3rd and 4th phases since the 2nd phase is in its final stages.
This decision has been triggered by the current dilapidated condition of the road which has been acting as an impediment to development.
