Seventh-Day Adventist School is forcing students' parents to spend an additional Rs 10,000 in the name of excursions, sports and cultural programmes and thereby flouting the rules set by the Education Department. In addition to paying the fee, parents are told to buy books, uniform and shoes only from the school, saying that some of the books are not available in open markets. It's taking a very toll on parents and therefore they had no choice but to protest against school authorities.
