CONVENTIONAL DEADLIFT SUBSTITUTE For those that can't perform conventional deadlifts with good technique because of a mobility restriction then sumo deadlifts can be a great substitute. It requires less mobility while still giving you the benefits of a deadlift with a slightly higher emphasis on the quads compared to a "normal" deadlift. Performing the conventional deadlift in a controlled way will help improve mobility n the necessary muscle groups for a deadlift over time but its best if you also do direct work on that muscle group also.
