BIO201 online | Chapter 4 (part B): Tissue Types

BIO201 online | Chapter 4 (part B): Tissue Types In this video we will take a more detailed look of the four main tissue types. We will discuss epithelial tissues, including the covering body surfaces & lining cavities, as well as glandular roles. Our discussion will also provide a review of the classification (shape, number of layers) of these tissue types. Then, we will look at the connective tissues, noting the commonly elements of this type (ground substance, fibers, cells). Next, we will be looking at muscle tissues. Each type (skeletal, cardiac, smooth) will be addressed - both in terms of location, function, and cell characteristics. Finally, a brief introduction to nervous tissue types (neurons, neuroglia) is provided.
