Asda apologises for shortage on popular item after shelves were left 'empty'

Asda apologises for shortage on popular item after shelves were left 'empty' Asda has apologised for a 'lack of chicken' after some shoppers were left less than impressed with the supermarket's poultry offering.  Disgruntled shoppers took to social media to complain about the shortage, which Asda claims has now been resolved.   According to the Liverpool Echo , customers reported finding empty shelves in various Asda branches, with some stores in the North West amongst those affected.   Next to a photo of the bare shelves, one shopper tweeted Asda, writing: " @asda So it’s 17:23 and there’s no chicken?"  Asda's official account responded to the complaint, writing: "Hey, thanks for reaching out to us on this, I'm sorry abut the lack of chicken available at this time, please could you advise what store this is at, from here we can pass this onto them for future improvement! Many thanks, Chris!"    Somebody else wrote: "Asda had barely anything! Absolute JOKE where’s all the chicken gone??"   Another tweeted out: "Still no chicken in @asda@AsdaServiceTeam Bridge of Dee. Guess it’ll have to be @sainsburys or @Tesco ."  A fourth joked: "There’s actual NAE chicken left in ASDA! What happened to veganuary?"   A spokesperson for Asda told Manchester Evening News: "We are sorry we fell fowl of our customers’ expectations for a couple of days, however we would like to reassure them that our shelves are now fully stocked up again.’’
