Kobe and Vanessa had a long relationship, 20 years, according to People magazine. Their devotion to each other helped them make it through some tough times, and together they built a beautiful family. Here are four things you may not know about Vanessa Bryant.

While the helicopter crash that took Kobe's life was horrific, it could have been even worse. He often rode in helicopters to avoid traffic, but Vanessa was thankfully never on board. Although they didn't mention a specific reason, a source told People,

"He and Vanessa had a deal that they would never fly on a helicopter together."

Kobe previously told the outlet that he began flying in helicopters while still playing for the Lakers, so that he could spend more time with his family.
