A&Z #784 - Atlas vs the massive "Super King" Korean Pork Donkatsu Challenge at 온정돈까스 in Seoul, South Korea. Back in mid-October 2019, my younger sister Shelley and I flew to Seoul, South Korea to kick-off a 3-country Asia trip, and I there I attempted 2 food challenges. For event #1, we traveled to 온정돈까스 in Seoul, South Korea. There, I took on the famous and massive "Super King" Korean Pork Donkatsu Challenge which I've been wanting to attempt for many years. It features a few giant pieces of pan-fried pork donkatsu covered with a delicious Korean sauce, totaling around 2kg. The challenge also includes a giant bowl of white rice served in a bowl, and there is a 20 minute time limit to finish everything. Massive Korean Pork Donkatsu Challenge at 온정돈까스:
The challenge features 3 or 4 pieces of pan-fried Korean pork donkatsu pieces, totaling around 2kg. Pork donkatsu is fairly similar to pork schnitzel, and this had a really tasty sauce on top of it. The donkatsu was served with a giant bowl of white rice, balled up to be larger than the size of a softball. There are additional prizes for finishing faster, but the base challenge is to finish the whole meal in less than 20 minutes. Winners receive the 15,000 South Korean Won meal free (~$13 USD) and their name and photo gets posted up on the restaurant's Wall of Fame. Definitely try this challenge if you are ever in the area!!
