In fact, Mundo Deportivo report that Betis are keeping tabs on Alena and are very interested in bringing him to the club. There has been an awareness that Los Verdiblancos have lacked quality options in the middle of the park, particularly after William Carvalho went down with a long-term injury, so the Betis board will now look to bring in two midfield additions with different characteristics during the January transfer window. One of them will be a defensive midfielder, who can play the 'pivot' role. The other would be a creative midfielder, which Alena would fit.
