At REI we test our gear in the ‘Mag Lab’ – named after the legendary Cal Magnusson who was our first dedicated testing engineer back in the 1970s. Since then we continue to test what we make for quality and durability. Between controlled experiments and getting out there on the trail as a Co-op community, we discover what works and what doesn’t.
