The new draft of JNU's hostel Manual had many controversial provisions like fee hike and dress code. This manual was initiated by the administration without taking the student's opinion into consideration. This was followed by mass students mobilisation and university lockdown.On Nov 11,2019, students gathered in large numbers outside the AICTE building where the convocation ceremony of JNU was going on.The ceremony was attended by honourable guests including the Vice President of India and Minister for HRD.
