Hallmark Copied Our Greeting Card Ideas & Made Big Bucks

I am telling this story for several reasons. 1st and foremost, I hope it will help startups to be more prepared when a giant company looks to take their ideas. Yes, I know about patents now but back in those days, I didn't know how to protect creative intellectual property and as a result, our wonderful greeting card company just faded away, and rather quickly. We were the 1st to create cards for women by women, and women purchase just about 90% of all greeting cards except for the holiday ones.
