As we move closer towards the completion of your home, I would like to share some details and expectations about the most important event in your journey with us: your closing day.
The closing of a home is, in many ways, like the birth of a baby. We never know for sure the exact day WHEN the baby is going to be born. Parents and doctors have to work with estimated dates because the baby comes… whenever it is ready to come!
In the same way, when we provide you with an estimated completion time of your home, it is important to emphasize the word ESTIMATED. Many things can affect the construction process and its timing, such as weather, issuing of permits, and availability of materials. Because of such variables, a home can be finished weeks before or even months after the initial estimated completion date.
As we get closer to the final stages of construction, we will be able to narrow down the range of possible completion dates. However, until we have a final closing date announced by our closing department, we are still dealing with estimations.
For these reasons, we find it important to make a few recommendations regarding future travel plans to attend the closing of your home:
1. It is important that you do not purchase airline tickets or make any hotel reservations until you receive a final closing date, coming from our CLOSING DEPARTMENT. This should happen approximately 20 days before your home is completed.
2. When making your travel plans, please make sure that you purchase refundable airline tickets. Unfortunately, even at the last minute, closing dates may still change — especially when considering unpredictable weather conditions which are common in the State of Florida.
3. Plan to arrive at least two days before your scheduled closing date. Furthermore, plan to stay at least four days after your closing date, in order to accommodate for any unforeseen delays.
We are almost there! We are looking forward to seeing you and to hand you the keys of your brand new Lennar Home in Orlando!
