This could be called Generation 1 vs Generation 2 of the new generic Micro RC Crawlers. This year's Hobby Plus CR-24 (similar to the FTX Outback Mini 2.0) and last year's RGT 1/24 Adventurer (similar to the FTX Outback Mini 1.0/ECX Barrage).
In terms of this particular comparison/climbing challenge I found the following advantages/disadvantages:
RGT 1/14 Adventurer:
- Advantages: Light plastic roll bar
- Disadvantages: High Gearing, placement of electronics
HobbyPlus CR-24 'kaki'/'Land Rover Defender:
- Advantages: Low gearing, placement of electronics
- Disadvantages: Metal roll bar and spare wheel/tire in the middle, bumper/lights in the rear
HobbyPlus CR-24 'kaki'/'Land Rover Defender:
- Advantages: Low gearing, placement of electronics
- Disadvantages: Spare wheel/tire, bumper/lights, tall body mounts - all in the rear
