Scrolling through the news I saw this article on Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the concern that voice actors and the departure from text based will result in "cringe". While I admit the sheer detail of FF7 Remake departs it from retro or even anime style dramatisation. But should Square Enix fear making the Final Fantasy 7 Remake too similar to the kind of narrative FF7 the original got away with in text format? I don't think so. Voice actors and lines in the trailer did have a peppy tone to them sure, but I dont think hyped reaction snippets pulled from the trailers is enough to judge just yet. Personally I want the Final Fantasy 7 remake to have an energetic, even slightly over the top, delivery to its cutscenes, cinematics and voice acting. How would you even go about telling the story of FF7R in all its weird wonderful glory if you did shy away from its original kind of tone? I'm glad Square Enix hasn't shied away from that, it would mean them drastically altering the way the story is told... I mean damn, we go snowboarding a couple hours after dear Aerith croaked :( (god damn you so hot in red dress huehue). Final Fantasy 7 just ain't your usual kettle of fish so any imagined idea of what the tonality 'should be' or what is 'fatally missing', often comes from the same people who imply a Remake of a game from this era is basically impossible. So if it can't be done in your eyes, well damn... maybe it can't, who knows, but we all about to find out and even thats just awesome! But if you think it can then please suggest what sort of voice actor delivery should we be seeing?
