Following public criticism, Karnataka State Excise minister H Nagesh, who had announced a proposal to deliver liquor to the doorsteps of consumers in certain areas of tribal villages, retracted his statement and stated that there is no such plan before the state government.
Addressing newsmen here on Thursday, the minister, the lone independent member in the BJP Government, said “The statement made by me, Yesterday, on a plans to deliver liquor to the consumers doorstep is withdrawn and there is no such plan before the state government”.

Claiming that he had made the statement on Wednesday, by mistake, the minister had also tendered his apology to women, the minister had also informed that the plan to launch mobile outlets to sell liquor also had been dropped.
