ABTV, the online television arm of Arabian Business aspires to become a media lab that fosters experimentation of ideas and carries out journalism differently. With that spirit, we are launching a weekly news debate show, titled ‘Crossfire’, that will be published across Arabian Business’ digital channels every Wednesday Being the first-of-its-kind in the UAE, we hope to bring contrasting views on problems which lie at the heart of the MENA region, but have just remained conversations in office breaks and the social media space. Planned as a weekly segment, the debate will feature two speakers with opposing views on the same subject for an approximated air-time of 20 mins. The debate that will be moderated by ABTV’s Shruthi Nair will be followed by an interactive Q & A session from the in-studio audience.
On the first episode, Kamal Al Samarrai, CEO of Dawaam, an online recruitment platform and Luke Tapp, Partner at Pinsent Masons wrangle over the UAE’s recruitment practices covering pressing topics including Emiratisation, demand-supply parity, discrimination, and slow recruitment processes.
