BOE's Carney Says `Let Exchange Rate Do Its Job' on Brexit

BOE's Carney Says `Let Exchange Rate Do Its Job' on Brexit Sep.04 -- Bank of England Governor Mark Carney said there’s almost no chance of the institution intervening in the foreign-exchange market to control swings in the pound. He pointed to the sharp moves in the currency after the 2016 Brexit referendum, saying the market worked well as investors assessed the “new realities” for the economy and U.K. assets. Carney made the comments at a Treasury Select Committee hearing in London.
