Whose Idea was it to do a Sew Along? Armed with an apron pattern that could be created from two old shirts, a day off and bundles of enthusiasm, Ting, Jen and I spent the day filming. However, it soon became clear that creating tutorials for YouTube is no easy thing and this tutorial was never meant to be! From a dodgy pattern to me not being a one take wonder it was a hard days work! During the editing phase I realised this was never going to see the light of day. Big respect to those people who make tutorials regardless of standard. They are hard! They take a huge amount of time, planning and forward preparation, let alone the time filming on the day and then editing after!
After a few weeks away from looking at the footage and being disappointed with it all, I came back to it to notice how funny all the things were when it all went wrong. So I made a new film, edited out the tutorial and kept the mistakes! You can see the fun we had even though it was going wrong so many times.
We did laugh hard many many times and you know what...It's exactly this PROCESS that should be enjoyed and we can all too easily forget this and the enjoyment goes as we stress to get everything perfect.
Have a good laugh at me getting it wrong. I hope this video makes you laugh out loud and feel good. It did me!
Oh and one thing.....don't ask for the apron instructions. They are in the bin haha.
We'll leave tutorials to the pro's
