University of Manchester Brass Band performs The Dreaded Groove and Hook (Simon Dobson) at UniBrass 2019. The band came 6th in the UniBrass Trophy. They were awarded the Best Student Conductor Prize.

The University of Manchester Brass Band was formed in October 2011 and has quickly gone on to become one of the finest University brass groups in the country. The band provides regular performing opportunities for brass players in the University through the brass band medium, and consists of both music and non-music students from the University of Manchester. The band has recently completed tours to Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and has performed in some of the country’s most prestigious concert venues. The band gained success at UniBrass in both 2015 and 2016 by winning 1st place both years, and claiming other prizes including Best Soloist and Best Student Conductor.
UniBrass 2019 was hosted by Bangor University Brass Band. In 2020, the contest will be returning to Bangor University and will be celebrating its 10th anniversary.
