Never seen such panic among Kashmiris, It's a Psychological War: Mehbooba Mufti

ormer Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Chief Minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti on Friday said that she had never seen such panic among the locals as the fresh order advising Amarnath Yatris and the tourists to leave the Valley triggered panic among the residents.

Citing "intelligence inputs of the terror threats" in Kashmir, the J&K administration issued a security advisory for the Amarnath yatra pilgrims and the tourists in the Valley and advised them to leave Kashmir as soon as possible.

Terming the recent developments in the Kashmir Valley as a "psychological war", Mehbooba Mufti said in a press conference that the security advisory that was issued today has created "chaos and confusion among people" and the recent developments have "made the environment very scary".

"I have never seen such panic among Kashmiri people," Mehbooba Mufti said.

Referring to the advisory to the tourists, the Amarnath yatra pilgrims and the deployment of additional troops in Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti said, "So many developments have taken place in past few days which make the environment very scary. People are in a panic."
