Kate Middleton: Duchess branded ‘not worthy’ of being royal by this family member

Kate Middleton: Duchess branded ‘not worthy’ of being royal by this family member Kate Middleton has been an official member of the Family since 211, when she married Prince William. Since the marriage, Kate has become one of the most recognised royal figures and is adored by fans all over the world. However, before the Duchess of Cambridge tied the knot with William, she was branded “not worthy” of being royal by a senior member of the family. Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, who herself married into the Queen’s family, reportedly said Kate was “too common” and “not worthy” of a place among the royals. The shock claim was made by royal author Christopher Andersen, who wrote the book Game of Crowns. In the book, published in 216, Mr Andersen explored the dynamic between three female royals - Queen Elizabeth II, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. In a bold claim, the author said “Camilla is a bit of a snob.”   Speaking to The Daily Beast in 217 he said of Camilla: “She’s an aristocrat, she has always been moving in circles. “She had always thought of herself as the heiress to Alice Keppel, her great-grandmother, who was the mistress of Edward VII. “She was very proud of that connection, she boasted about that as a child and as an adult and that’s what she intended to be; part of the circle in the role of mistress to the future king, and then the king. “She did not look at Kate as someone who was worthy of joining the Family.   “Kate is the first working-class woman to be accepted into the Family. “She is descended from coal miners and her mother was a flight attendant. “So for all those reasons Camilla never really felt that Kate Middleton as an individual and the Middleton family as a whole were going to be worthy of entering into the Family.” Mr Andersen also revealed that Camilla had encouraged husband Prince Charles to break off the relationship between Kate and William.  The couple split up briefly in April 27, but quickly got back together. Mr Andersen said: “I was in London when the breakup [of William and Kate] occurred. “I was shocked, completely stunned, everyone thought it was only a matter of time before William was going to ask Kate to marry him. “And then people started telling me that Camilla was behind it.”
