Château des Grotteaux is a beautiful renaissance manor house built by Guillaume Ribier in 1620 on the foundations of an older building, the remains which can still be seen in the vaulted cellars of the castle. He was a noted scholar and created one of the largest collection of books of the period. He was also a local high magistrate in the region and was approached by King Louis XIII three times to take up a ministerial post, each time he declined preferring his more gentile way of life. The current owners, Cecile and Gaël Halgouët, purchased the then abandoned property in 2015 and after an extensive restoration, opened a luxury B&B in 2017. Guest in the five bedrooms also have access to the extensive gardens, a very large pool and a number of lovely rooms on the ground floor of the Chateau.
