Tub and shower valve repair plate. Ideal for replacing any tub and shower valve where the top of the handles (3 handle valve) or valve trim (single handle valve) measures 14.5 inches or less to the apron or tub edge below the existing tub and shower valve. When using the provided template one will find that they have plenty of room to do the work necessary inside the wall when connecting to a new tub and shower valve. Though we recommend fastening the new valve inside the wall this plate is designed so that the installer can fasten a loose or "floating" valve (can be the case with tub and shower valves that are piped with plastic tubing or loose, rigid piping) right to the plate which fastens to the existing wall. The Tub and Shower Valve UPDATE PLATE will cover up the hole made and look very nice. The trim that is provided with your newly installed tub and shower valve will look great as you install it against the UPDATE PLATE. Plate is 16 inches H. X 13 inches W. X .75 inches thick
