Revival Fire Upon Students The Greatness of the Fire of the Holy Spirit Upon the Ikorodu Grammar School Students.

Here again the distinction is made between water baptism and the baptism in the Holy Ghost, for Peter said, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we (Acts 10:47)?

Peter spread the news to the brethren: And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning (Acts 11:15). What happened when the fire of the Holy Ghost fell on them at the beginning? They spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost (verse 16).

Prayer without Ceasing
James the brother of John was killed and Peter put in prison. But prayer without ceasing poured forth to God from the Church for Peter, and we see the greatness of the fire of the Holy Spirit in action again. While Peter was sleeping, bound between two soldiers, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision (Acts 12:7-9). Through the power of the Holy Ghost, the disciples carried the news of the saving Christ; they shook off the dust from their feet against those who rejected them and the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost (Acts 13:52). Boldly they spoke in the Lord, and the Lord granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

Scattered, Yes, but the Power of the Spirit Went with Them
Through the greatness of the fire of the Holy Spirit Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake (Acts 6:8,10). Many came to God because Stephen let the greatness of the Holy Spirit flow through him. It shook the kingdom of Lucifer to the extent that false witnesses were hired to lie about him, for they could find no fault in this good man…and they stoned him to death.

The apostles scattered everywhere to escape the persecution in Jerusalem, and with them went the greatness of the fire of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit wrought wonders through Philip in Samaria as he preached Christ. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city (Acts 8:6-8).

When the apostles at Jerusalem heard that those in Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:15-17). This scripture again makes it clear that the Holy Ghost baptism is something apart from water baptism, that after receiving Jesus into your heart as your Savior, there is yet more—the baptism in the Holy Ghost.
