Michelle Gayle has landed the role of Hermione after what she says was a vigorous audition process. She gives credit to JK Rowling for her diverse casting, reminding everyone that at no point is Hermione's skin colour mentioned in the book, only her frizzy hair. When asked about a possible return to EastEnders, Michelle says its always a possibility, but currently has no plans to return to the square.
