Why are the Pawnee different? Unusually, their beliefs are monotheistic and star-based, unlike most North American tribes whose religions are polytheistic and earth-based. And how did they react to the European Christianisation of their lands?

CARLTON GOVER is a Doctorate Student & Archaeologist at University of Colorado Boulder and studies at University of Colorado, Boulder. He is Pawnee on his father's side and a member of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma. He is one of the hosts of the new A Life In Ruins archaeology podcast.
